Deviated septum

Definition: the nasal septum, which divides one side of the nose from the other, is bent or deviated to one side of the nose, therefore causing a blockage of air flow, and nasal blockage occurs.

Symptoms/possible causes: trauma to the nose is the most common cause of a deviated septum.

Possible course of treatment: a prescription nasal spray which shrinks down the turbinates in a non-addicting fashion or surgery on the nasal septum to make the septum straight.
